坦白說當時我一直弄不清楚到底女主唱是誰,每次就只聽到歌名跟Peter Cetera的名字.當時如果沒有趕上看余光音樂雜誌,就要聽星期天下午ICRT的American Top 40.當時我的聽力每次都只能專心的抓歌名,然後來決定要不要按下錄音機的Record鍵.

常常一閃神就 "...啊!前奏開始了,是這首喔,"
然後錄了一堆前奏只有一半 或是還有DJ說話的歌.

雖然我對這首歌中Amy Grant的甜美聲音十分傾倒,
但是他後來1991年的個人專輯"Heart in Motion"中的暢銷曲"Baby Baby"
中學生的我卻總是沒耐心聽完他,給我一種過於甜膩的煩躁感

多年後再次看到這個MV,人生也過了好幾次面對NEXT TIME的情況了

在記憶中這首歌發行的時候我已經上高中了,開始外地生生活,聽收音機的時間變多了,看電視的時間則變得很少(沒電視),這首歌輕快的旋律加上這種對慘綠高中生具強大殺傷力的初戀詞,很快的成為我喜愛的歌曲,不過人生真的是需要緣分,因為當時看電視頻率的降低,加上那幾年好像余光大人的節目好像收起來了(或是趕不回去看),我居然從來沒看過這首歌的MV.說真的對這兩位的長相也沒有印象.只有旋律倒是很深刻的烙在記憶裡.

這首歌的歌詞說真的就是個很直接天真到有點幼稚的情歌,
有趣的是我國中的時候還蠻愛的,
問題是我每次回到家余光音樂雜誌,MV不是播過了就是已經播一半
好吧,雖然當時英文還在起步中
也從節目跟ICRT中拼出了團名叫Outfield
歌名是" All the Love in the World"
然後神奇的是我每天上完輔導課趁公車還沒來之前去唱片行找他們的專輯
斷斷續續找到我都上高中了還是沒看見

然後到幾年前,也就是這首歌問世的十幾年後
我去當時還沒倒的Tower看到特價的Sony版經典CD
於是我很開心的為了兩首主打歌把Outfield的CD帶回家

感謝Youtube,線在連MV都可以再次看見
雖然這首歌真的不是什麼突出傑作
不過,我還是很開心能把它收進來
我空閒時可以再看看它的MV 回想一下我在唱片行瞎找的時光

"Shout" from Tears for Fears

我對這首歌抱持著的感情是非常特別的.國二時買了一生中第一捲專輯錄音帶就是Tears for Fears(盒子上翻驚懼之淚).第一次在電視上看到MV時(余光音樂雜誌,星期六上輔導課為了趕上節目時間,會狂飆腳踏車),對當時幼稚的我是相當大的衝擊,其實歌詞聽得懂的也不多,不過就很喜歡他們的歌,年少輕狂雖然不再,不過世界卻總是需要憤怒青年.

氣勢很強的副歌加上使用適度的電子樂,不管我們現在是否已滿頭華髮,再一次跟著Tears for Fears一吐胸中的鬱悶吧.

新聞或評論:為何要編譯

雖然我在相關閱讀裡放了最近台灣兩大媒體出的包,但是我的主題並不是要探討這兩件烏龍事件,台灣媒體的可信度應該不需要我再告訴大家了,基本上自由時報並沒有好多少,只是目前為止比較少被抓到捏造新聞的事罷了.要絕對客觀(Objective)也許不可能,但是公平公正(Fair)卻不是做不到的,

這學期上英文新聞課時,老師出了個作業,要我們用兩份報紙去比對裡面的國際新聞的來源,計算同一天裡面來自各大新聞社的新聞數量,一方面介紹各大新聞社(News Agency 如 AP美聯社, AFP法新社,Reuter 路透社,Bloomberg 彭博),一方面讓我們看到目前大多數的國際新聞其實都是來自這些新聞社.我買了一份Taipei Times,一份 China Post, 一份聯合報,結果我發現了一個很tricky的用法"編譯"+"綜合外電報導",而且數量遠勝過單純標示法新社或美聯社的新聞.

也許是個人生性多疑,學識淺薄,不過,首先將單篇新聞跟法新社的報導比較起來並沒有什麼因編譯而有不同的地方,將兩三篇原文雜湊的結果唯一的優點,我只看到一個,就是減少篇幅.但是大家老是看見裁剪過的新聞,其實不是好事.哪天難保翻譯又不忠於原文,這時候報社可以冠冕堂皇地說,不是有註明編譯了嗎,編字你們不懂喔.

台灣的報紙常常評論與報導不分,這是很差勁的.有將原文斷章取義之嫌.原文是張方形白紙,用剪刀把它剪成一個記者想要的花,這不是報導是評論.下面舉出一個最近的例子,

最近的一個大新聞,美國總統布希頒獎給達賴喇嘛,在此個人覺得新聞用這個標題(「西藏是中國一部分」 達賴：無條件訪大陸)已經不像新聞像是Slogan,而且不是達賴喇嘛的Slogan,而是這位全知全能的記者,整篇沒有強調達賴喇嘛所訴求的重點,抓著其中的幾句不放且語氣上也不尊重原文,其中我認為達賴喇嘛真正要表達的完全沒報,只強調他並不主張獨立,節錄一段從官方網站節錄下來的演說原文跟大家分享

With respect to my own homeland Tibet, today many people, both from inside and outside, feel deeply concerned about the consequences of the rapid change taking place. Every year, the Chinese population inside Tibet is increasing at an alarming rate. And, if we are to judge by the example of the population of Lhasa, there is a real danger that the Tibetans will be reduced to an insignificant minority in their own homeland. This rapid increase in population combined also posing serious threat to Tibet’s fragile environment. Being the source of many of Asia’s great rivers, any substantial disturbance in Tibet’s ecology will impact the lives of hundreds of millions. Furthermore, being situated between India and China, the peaceful resolution of the Tibet problem also has important implications for lasting peace and friendly relation between these two great neighbors.
對於我的故鄉西藏,今天有許多人不管是在西藏本地或是離鄉在外的都深深的對快速變化的影響深深擔憂.每年,西藏境內的中國人口以令人擔憂的速度成長,以拉薩的人口為例,西藏人已經真的面臨在自己的家園成為少數弱勢的危機.人口的快速成長也對西藏脆弱的生態環境造成嚴重威脅,西藏這個許多亞洲大河流的發源地,任何對西藏生態系統的實質干擾破壞,都將影響數千萬計的生命.另外位處於印度與中國間,和平的解決西藏問題也影響這兩個強大鄰居長久維持和平與友善的關係深遠.

On the future of Tibet, let me take this opportunity to restate categorically that I am not seeking independence. I am seeking a meaningful autonomy for the Tibetan people within the People’s Republic of China. If the real concern of the Chinese leadership is the unity and stability of PRC, I have fully addressed their concerns. I have chosen to adopt this position because I believe, given the obvious benefits especially in economic development, this would be in the best interest of the Tibetan people. Furthermore, I have no intention of using any agreement on autonomy as a stepping stone for Tibet’s independence.
對於西藏的未來,讓我藉這個機會再清楚堅定的重申一次,我並不追求獨立,我追求在中華人民共和國內西藏人民的自治,如果中國領導人當局認為這對中國的統一及穩定有疑慮,我已經很清楚的回答了他們的疑慮,我選擇接受這樣的情形因為我相信,尤其是在經濟上的成長,這也會是對西藏人民的最大利益.更進一步的,我並無意將取得自治權當作西藏獨立的跳板.

是的,達賴喇嘛 His Holiness是說他無意獨立,但是他的語氣完全不是這位大記者的振臂疾呼:「西藏是中國一部分」.而且文中的其他重點,中國蠻橫沒品的作為都被忽略了.如果這種斷章取義的報導前後有包含對全文的翻譯,或是較貼近原文的轉述,我們可以把他當作是個評論或社論來看,但是無疑的,作為一篇報導,無疑是失格的.
