Suddenly Billy Ocean

用"膾炙人口"來形容這首歌應該不過分,如果排個英文情歌史上100強的話應該也不過分,雖然有聲音質疑這首歌的創意跟Lionel Richie的"Hello"有異曲同工之妙,不過都無損於作品本身的價值,如果以我主觀的觀點來看的話,兩者確實有相近之處,不過情緒處理上的巧妙不同,"Hello"的語氣比較帶著對關係的不確定感,在感情進展上是處於尚未明朗的還處於單相思的階段,但是"Suddenly"是表達對於愛情的一種喜悅與感激,感謝這段成熟的關係所給予的體驗與表達滿溢的愛意.

"Everything's Gonna Be Alright" by Sweetbox

這幾天連續的主題就是alright,不過風格完全都不同,這首歌最有名的部份是取用巴哈小溪先生的名作取樣"Air on the G String",雖然對喜愛古典的人來說也許會覺得它沾了這不朽名曲的光,不過能夠讓流行曲風的歌曲,不管是去依附在這名曲上,或是和諧的與名曲共存,製作跟編曲的功力還是很令人佩服的.對我來說"Air on the G String"依然是我最愛的古典曲目,不過偶而聽這首流行曲會覺得更能體會巴哈小溪先生的偉大.


話說這首歌也有兩個版本,且這個團換過兩位主唱,大家比較熟悉的是後來的甜心主唱Jade Villalon,不過事實上這首歌是第一張同名專輯裡面由當時的主唱Tina Harris首先唱的,後來在精選輯Jade Villalon又來個男女對唱混音Reborn.

"It's Alright" by Ricky Martin

天氣不好,人的情緒多少受影響,不過這時候正是適合自High的好時候,經醫學證明自High對身心有益,所以再來一首也叫"It's Alright" Ricky Martin的歌,這首歌的西文版本其實比較酷,不過我還沒上第二外國語,所以先來個英文版.之前去健身房運動,放這首歌的時候個人覺得騎腳踏車踩的特別愉快,跑步特別振奮,所以好音樂的確是會影響運動的效果的.

附加一個真實人生的笑話,話說數年前跟朋友去跑跑步機,這位朋友非常愛孫燕姿的"綠光",於是當開始放綠光時,他很高興的說,"Yeah,我跑完這首歌再休息",......十分鐘過去了,呃,綠光有加長版嗎?我的好友終於放棄了,然後經過服務台的時候,聽到教練跟一個服務人員的對白,"ㄟ,你也不能喜歡一個歌就把它單曲repeat啊!這裡是健身房也!","我放三遍就停了好唄,幹麻一直唸!",我朋友的痠痛頓時轉變為軟腿,我笑到出現我畢生最明顯的腹肌."原來遇到同好了啊!!!"

不久前我買了本有趣的書叫"口頭禪夢想實現法",聽來有點虛幻,不過是本好書喔,內容總結成一句話,就是你的語言會回饋到你的生理與心理,所以要盡量用語言給自己正面能量.很厚臉皮的模仿下張曼娟引用袁枚的詩,"七十猶栽樹，旁人莫笑癡。 古來雖有死，好在不先知",就是這種樂天心態.不過今天這首歌我個人覺得效果要更好.騎車,開心自HIGH兩相宜,大聲跟著唱:

"All My Life" by K-Ci & JoJo

雖然歌詞用中文觀點來看很誇張,You are the only one ,You're my everything沒什麼,但是如母如父如姐如兄,這幾句就有點很神奇,這種體驗真的太神奇了,戀愛的最高境界是把對方變成自己的宗教嗎?如果已經有婆婆身分的人看這個詞應該會想"有了老婆就不要娘了"吧.

不過這首歌真的是蠻耐聽的,而且還很適合騎機車的時候哼,我個人強力建議使用方式是,催油門加速超車的時候唱副歌那段.

"I Heard A Rumor" by Bananarama

選舉快到了,來個應景的歌曲,I Heard A Rumor,我聽到個謠言

好吧,我試圖說個冷笑話,好像不是很成功,
Bananarama也是80年代的無敵天團之一,
喧嘩熱鬧的舞曲加上對愛情困惑的趣味歌詞
事實證明市場很吃這套,像"Venus", "Love in the First Degree" 跟這首 "I Heard a Rumour"都大賣.
除此之外當然少不了有趣的MV,雖然今日看來有點舊
不過認真看會發現有些後來台灣MV偷學的地方,這是另外一種趣味吧

不管藍的綠的,大家都在收集謠言跟放謠言,
如果因為政治立場支持某方就照單全收該方的說法,全面否定另外一方的說法,
那顯然不是很明智,不過不失為污辱自己智慧的捷徑

從Miami Vice 聯想到 Jerry_Bruckheimer

80年代Miami Vice這部影集到底有多紅,當年的錄影機時代,資訊量沒有現在多,如果說比現在的CSI還紅我覺得不過份


這部影集讓我聯想到Jerry BruckHeimer(CSI的製作人),是不是有受到影響我不知道,但是我知道這部片裡面的元素在Jerry BruckHeimer製作的賣座片中也一再的被運用,爆破場面,名車,警匪追逐,雖然我不是要介紹Jerry BruckHeimer不過用他的片串起來嚇嚇人也挺有趣,首先CSI系列不用講,電影部分更恐怖,捍衛戰士(Top Gun),絕地戰警(Bad Boys),絕地任務(The Rock),空中監獄(Con Air),世界末日(Armageddon),全民公敵(Enemy of the State),神鬼奇航三部曲,國家寶藏.....好吧!你覺得這怎麼可能對吧!這傢伙簡直是好萊塢國王嘛!

有個評語很有趣2007 - Ranked #14 on EW's The 50 Smartest People in Hollywood.娛樂週刊把他在好萊塢最聰明的50人中排名第14.有興趣的話可以把他製作的片全部租回家看一遍,應該要敗不少錢在百事達租片吧!

接下來回到Miami Vice這部影集膾炙人口的片頭,我國中時非常想知道這段音樂的作者,不過當時的資訊很少,Internet跟Google真的是我們的好朋友,原來作者是Jan Hammer下面這版的Miami Vice Theme有他的真面目,劇情很有趣,調查探員好像拿到線民給的密報,然後組長說了句很帥氣的"He is here",然後相片上的就是我們的配樂家Jan Hammer,毒梟式的出場,雖然是20年前的點子我還是覺得真是酷.

Heartbeat by Don Johnson

這首歌坦白說是來亂的,我沒特別喜歡也沒特別討厭,不過Don Johnson在哪個80年代絕對算是個頭號人物,歌詞大概是為了讓美國為數不少的文盲(illiterate)也能接受,淺顯易懂,呃也沒什麼內容,當年Don Johnson在電視螢光幕上可是紅到不行,開著法拉利帥氣的臥底警探(白人警探開的車比黑人警探的顯然要高檔的多),在Miami帥氣的飆車把妹臥底辦案,"Miami Vice"說是那個年代最紅的影集一點也不為過,不過這首歌被我列為根Samansa Fox的"Touch Me"同等級的歌.應該是為了當時他的師奶市場量身打造的吧!

順帶一提,以下為個人偏見,電影版的Miami Vice真是個不知所云的片,劇情沒張力,情節沒什麼曲折,連槍戰都不刺激,除了鞏俐衝個話題好像比較特別外,實在不知道這部片有什麼值得看的地方,算是我看電影人生中覺得最花冤枉錢的前幾名(跟鐵男躲避球爭冠亞軍).

"Sara" by Starship

第一次聽這首歌應該是國二的聖誕節前夕,當時的國中生其實談不上什麼過節
雖然當時行憲紀念日有放假,好像還是要去學校考試,
不過等公車旁的唱片行不停的放,不知不覺這首歌似乎成了我覺得好像聖誕節一定要有的歌曲
對中學生來說這種帶有戀愛傷痕的應景歌曲,也許比起其他的聖誕歌曲更有情感的感染力吧

過了數不清的聖誕節(其實是不想算清楚),George Michael的聲音還是充滿渲染力
每次有人重唱這首歌或是"Careless Whisper",總不免在心裡嘀咕還是沒有原唱的味道
抱歉,Andrew Ridgeley最後還是被忽略了
不過根據Wiki的記載Andrew在之後的人生過得十分順遂
遠離鎂光燈,生意做得不錯,而且是個環保人士

My Favourite Game by The Cardigans

The Cardigans 最為大眾熟悉的作品應該是Lovefool,不過那個曲風對我來說甜度過高,所以當時我並沒有非常愛羊毛衫(嗯,我喜歡這個翻譯名),不過我並不算他們的fans,如果停留在Lovefool對他們的印象的話,可能會被他們其他作品給驚嚇到,因為他們的曲風非常多變,簡直沒有固定風格,Wiki的描述是"The band's musical style has varied greatly from album to album and encompasses their early indie leanings passing through '60s-inspired pop and more band-based rock."

坦白說,這歌詞配合上MV後其實有點恐怖的味道,有點輸了感情不惜毀滅一切的感覺,本來很好聽的歌,突然多了一種鬼氣,我有點後悔去看歌詞,人生最恐怖的事之一就是遇到那種活在自己世界裏,你怎麼說他都聽不進或是用自己想要的方式解讀,這種恐怖真的會讓人精神衰弱.我個人的恐怖經歷是: No matter how hard I tried, it still took my polite "NO" as a "YES". 簡直跟戰慄遊戲一樣. 到現在都還心有餘悸.

不過這部MV除了歌好聽外,還有很有趣的MV,算是黑色幽默嗎?我無法給予精確的定位,但是非常有趣,一開始你會不知道性格的女主唱到底想做什麼.然後非常帥氣的讓跑車自己奔馳.如果有機會應該是個很愜意的行為(不過不要逆向啊).

電影回到未來(Back to the Future)是許多6年級生難忘的青澀記憶,
雖然不知道是不是大家都很喜歡自己的少年時期
不過我倒是很懷念當時天真充滿遠大目標的自己
(其實也沒多偉大,就什麼都想學,這點至今沒變,只是比當時瞭解自己的能耐)

一開始聽這首歌沒抓到完整的意思
還以為是要敘述不同階級的男女發生戀情
不過真的認真把歌詞看完
發現是在描述現代城市裡階級差距及人際的疏離感
及對冷漠社會的無力感

在這裡讓我想到很多人在公司中的處境應該也是如此吧
借用一下珂琳娜‧梅耶（Corinne Maier)這位法國女士提的"顛覆工作 悄悄撤退"

"在這種個人發展無望、社會前景黯淡的情況下，那些還在以當個高階主管
為職志的中產階級家庭子女，從現在開始，都該調整生涯目標。 怎麼調整

呃,這實在是首讓人embarrassing的懷念歌曲
國中跟著同學去海報攤逛,當時一張20元新台幣就可以買一張
我買過Wham跟阿諾的魔鬼司令海報(我爸說瘦排骨貼這個有用嗎?)
在其他外國歌星跟影星的海報下
隱藏著Samantha Fox的"呼之欲出"海報
還有"欲蓋彌彰"海報
以及國中男生都想買但絕對沒膽子貼在家裡的
英國太陽報The Sun 有名的Page3 Topless Girl那張
太陽報基本上就跟比蘋果還要猛的報紙,Page 3固定都是清涼的,請自己去網站上看

很出乎大家的意料之外這位當年的性感女神
在這首MV中包的很緊(說真的155的身高,這種比例上半身根本就是個球)
不過這首歌歌詞整個可以用以下的公式來表示
性暗示*100

除了歌詞很多性暗示外(其實是明示了),MV還有些很詭異的花招
例如Keyboard手會轉個三百六十度姿勢,回頭繼續彈
還有穿得超詭異爬上台的怪聽眾很奇怪的配合舞蹈
其實最有趣的是,這首歌的MV當年在台灣沒有被禁
因為是英文的所以沒被抓到吧
在那個會強調音樂不能違反善良風俗要教化人心的時代.

這首歌要是能寫出青澀的慘綠少年回憶
那對文字的操弄已經是神的境界
大概可以跟 出師表,陳情表還有祭十二郎文並列了吧
讀《出師表》不哭者不忠，讀《陳情表》不哭者不孝，讀《祭十二郎文》不哭者不慈
(如果有中學生GOOGLE這些關鍵字卻看到這篇,應該會生氣吧! XD)

西方歌壇的百變女郎有很多,
不過Gwen Stefani無疑是之中的佼佼者,
不管是之前No Doubt的抒情搖滾單曲 Don't Speak
或是火辣充滿動感的Hollaback Girl
Gwen都有自己獨特的詮釋
但是這首MV中的風情萬種真的是很讓人驚艷
金髮如果弄得不好有時會讓人覺得很俗艷
但是這裡只想到一個形容詞就是 stunning

雖然風格不同,但是4 In The Morning但是這個歌名
讓我想到庾澄慶的 "想你醒在零點零三分"

也許只有在夜裡才能盡情傾訴心中的感情吧.

又是首80年代的歌,當年只要是David Foster的出品應該說就是暢銷的保證
不過這時候我才剛剛被啟蒙,這首歌就成為我當年聽過好想找的歌之一
也不知道歌名也不知道歌手的國一生找不到是意料中的事
只有Through the fire這個句子跟Chaka Khan充滿爆發力深情的歌聲
會在某些特殊的情境下再次從腦海中湧出

時間對這首歌中為愛付出的無所畏懼沒有造成一點磨損
成年的我卻早已沒有那種一往無前的勇氣了

坦白說當時我一直弄不清楚到底女主唱是誰,每次就只聽到歌名跟Peter Cetera的名字.當時如果沒有趕上看余光音樂雜誌,就要聽星期天下午ICRT的American Top 40.當時我的聽力每次都只能專心的抓歌名,然後來決定要不要按下錄音機的Record鍵.

常常一閃神就 "...啊!前奏開始了,是這首喔,"
然後錄了一堆前奏只有一半 或是還有DJ說話的歌.

雖然我對這首歌中Amy Grant的甜美聲音十分傾倒,
但是他後來1991年的個人專輯"Heart in Motion"中的暢銷曲"Baby Baby"
中學生的我卻總是沒耐心聽完他,給我一種過於甜膩的煩躁感

多年後再次看到這個MV,人生也過了好幾次面對NEXT TIME的情況了

The song still can catch our hearts, but love remains a mystery.
